A SURPRISE donation of festive treats and goodies from Ramsden International brought some early festive cheer to YMCA Humber on Friday 27 November.
Kerry Hughes and a team from Ramsden International visited our Peaks Lane Housing Project to provide a selection of fabulous donations that will support the young people we work with across the Christmas period.
The donations included selection boxes and sweets for our Immingham Youth Project, tinned goodies and biscuits that will be distributed at Christmas in our housing projects and cooking ingredients that our support staff will use with young people to create some festive treats of their own.
Staff and young people at the Peaks Lane Housing Project were overwhelmed when the team from Ramsden International arrived with their donation. Denise Carter is the Deputy Peaks Lane Project Manager and spoke of her delight upon receiving the goods.
She said: “This is an unbelievable donation from Ramsden International and we cannot thank them enough for their generosity.
“We have items that can be used across our projects in all different areas of our work, from some of the youngest people we work with in our youth project at Immingham to those in our Housing Projects.
“A number of our young people are already very excited to bake some Christmas cakes and cookies with the cooking ingredients that have been donated.”
Kerry added: “We have been looking to spread some festive joy around North East Lincolnshire and YMCA is an organisation that immediately sprang to mind as one we wanted to support because they do such fantastic work with vulnerable young people in the area.”
Young people at our Peaks Lane Housing Project have been enjoying cooking sessions in recent weeks and you can view those pictures on our Flickr page. For more on Ramsden International, please visit their website.
