A TEAM from YMCA Humber took part in the area’s first ever ‘GoTri Cleethorpes’ on 27 November at Cleethorpes Leisure Centre.
GoTri Cleethorpes was organised by Cleethorpes Triathlon Club and is an indoor 200m swim, 5k on a fitness bike and 2.5k on a treadmill. The event is designed for people who want to take part in their very first triathlon.
YMCA’s team included CEO Malcolm Smith, Coaches Hannah McMahon and Leanne Kennedy, Customer Service Officer Amy Helland and Sharon Marray and Belinda Hazzard from our Finance Department.
Malcolm said: “It was great to have a team of staff get involved in a physical challenge, and beat personal goals.
“The event was greatly organised by GoTri Cleethorpes, and it was fantastic to see people pushing themselves to be the best they can be.”
Hannah added: “It was the first time I had taken part in an event of this kind.
“I really enjoyed the challenge, it was good to motivate one another whilst secretly being in competition and I managed to beat my own personal running time by four minutes.”
