RUNNERS from a youth charity will be heading to a local firm of solicitors on Friday 31 March to raise funds for their London Marathon challenge.
Fundraisers at YMCA Humber will be taking a portable treadmill to Cartergate House, home of Wilkin Chapman LLP.
The runners are challenging staff and clients at the Grimsby office to add a mile to their marathon challenge.
Members of YMCA’s team will also be collecting donations for the charity’s work with young people in North East Lincolnshire.
Leanne Kennedy is YMCA’s Events and Marketing Assistant and she is looking forward to attending the event.
She said: “We would like to thank Wilkin Chapman for helping promote our London Marathon runners.
“The idea is we take a treadmill into their offices and invite staff and members of the public to add a mile as we aim to hit a 26.2-mile marathon distance during the day.
“We’re also hoping that people will be kind enough to donate to our cause, which will go towards providing sporting activities for the young people, not just in our housing projects, but across North East Lincolnshire.”
Alison Mitchell is Senior Marketing Manager at Wilkin Chapman and she added: “We are only too pleased to help the YMCA Humber. They do a fantastic job supporting vulnerable youths in our community. We hope that people passing by stop to support the runners.”
