A YOUTH charity is urging the local community to come along to one of their Grimsby projects and bag a bargain or earn some extra holiday cash.
YMCA Humber is hosting a car boot sale at their Peaks Lane Housing Project in Grimsby on Saturday 8 July with proceeds going to help refurbish communal areas in the 72-bed site.
Sellers are invited to come to the project at the end of Peaks Lane for 8am on the day, with pitches costing £4 per car. Stallholders are asked to provide their own table and the event will run from 9am until 3pm.
Organisers are also planning further activities for anyone that is coming along to try and bag a holiday bargain or two.
These include a barbeque, cold drinks and ice pops, a bouncy castle, as well as live music and karaoke.
Fiona O’Flinn is YMCA’s Positive Pathways Lead and she is looking forward to a successful event.
She said: “As a team, we have floated a lot of ideas around over the past few weeks about how we could fundraise to improve the quality of our housing project.
“One of the most popular suggestions was to open up the fantastic space we have at the back of the project and hold a car boot sale.
“We hope that the local community will come down and support our charity and perhaps grab a bargain or two whilst they are there.”
