The Youth Partnership is looking for volunteers from the local community to support youth provision in Immingham. Can you help?

November 15, 2018

Do you live in Immingham? Can you spare 2 or 3 hours a week to volunteer your time to support services for local young people?

Volunteers will be offered informal training, support and mentoring from YMCA Humber’s Youth & Community Team to deliver activities that will be supported by the Youth Partnership.

YMCA is the largest youth organisation in the world and as such are keen to associate with and lead any work that can have a positive influence on young people.

In 2015 YMCA established The Youth Partnership in North East Lincolnshire to provide youth activities in communities across North East Lincolnshire and give young people aged between 8 and 18 somewhere safe to go where they could take part in safe, fun activities with their peers.

Young people also benefit from participating in the informal education environment that is provided by Youth Services, which empowers and enables them to determine their own outcomes and set their own agenda now and into the future.

The service is part of YMCA Humber’s commitment to support young people across North East Lincolnshire.

The Partnership steering group is led by YMCA Humber and includes Positive Activities, Oasis Academy Immingham, Oasis Hub South Grimsby, Shalom Youth Centre, Lincs Inspire, Young People’s Support Services and the Methodist Movement.

Alan Burley, Funding & Volunteer Coordinator for YMCA Humber, said: “We urge anyone who is interested to get in touch for more details.

“I immensely enjoy working as part of a team providing positive and engaging activities for young people.

“We continuously seek to create opportunities for exploring, addressing and tackling issues that affect young people.

“Whilst volunteering can be very challenging it is an incredibly rewarding role.”
