Niel Strawson, a trustee for YMCA Humber, took on the challenge to raise valuable funds for the charity.
Niel, successfully managed to raise £6,000 on a trip from London to Paris venturing over 200 miles in 3 days. Many would believe him to be an avid cyclist from taking on this momentous challenge, but he claims to have not cycled for over 30 years.
Donning his new YMCA Humber shirt, Niel borrowed a bike and joined 5 close friends from university on a trek to help raise funds for the charity.
Niel, who has been a trustee for YMCA Humber for 9 years, said:
“It is not often I do these sorts of challenges, so I thought to make it really worthwhile, I would try and raise money for a special cause.
“As well as providing supported accommodation, the YMCA does some wonderful work to support young people with mental health, their education and also provides youth club facilities.
“It was a fantastic and enjoyable trip from the Tower of London to the Eiffel Tower in Paris, though challenging, I’m please to have raised so much for a fantastic cause”.
