The Garfield Weston Foundation Board of Trustees and Pilotlight have selected YMCA Humber as a 2019 Award Winner.
YMCA Humber has been announced as one of the 20 selected charities to win a 2019 Weston Charity Award!
The selected charities will benefit from a grant of £6,500 and a year of tailored strategic planning support from The Pilotlight Programme, a programme that matches a team of professionals in different private and public sector organisation with the charity.
Philippa Charles, Director of the Garfield Weston Foundation said:
“The Weston Charity Awards recipients have been selected due to the strength of their ambitions and their openness to external perspectives. As we enter the sixth year of the Awards, our Trustees are excited by the opportunity this presents to strengthen the sector.”
Debbie Cook, Chief Executive Officer of YMCA Humber said:
“As a newly appointed CEO in a pivotal year for YMCA Humber, this award and its focus on strategic leadership sends a clear sign to our communities that we will do what we set out to deliver for vulnerable young people. We will seize this amazing opportunity to grow our impact, to keep making a difference and become the best organisation we can be.
“We have been advised by the Garfield Weston Foundation that the calibre of entrants for this year’s Weston Charity Awards was extremely high and the Trustees did not find selecting the winners easy. However, they were impressed by the work we do and hope that a year working with Pilotlight will help us to further strengthen our organisation for the future. This is a really exciting, aspirational opportunity which should ultimately benefit our whole team and the residents and young people of this community that we serve. Our thanks go to the Weston family”.
