December 12, 2019

The deadline to vote in the General Election is 10pm today, Thursday  12 December 2019

YMCA Humber residents have been preparing to cast their vote over the last few weeks and are being supported to reach the polling station and place their vote.

Siobhan delivered a Pizza and Politics evening for residents, the group had a general discussion about democracy in the UK and held a mini referendum to determine their views on prevalent topics and looked at key points on all the parties manifesto released at the time.

Most of the residents in attendance were already firmly of the opinion that voting was important and the session reinforced that.

Two of the residents were under 18 and so unable to vote in this general election but advised they would vote as soon as they are able to do so. This will be one residents first opportunity to vote and she is excited at the prospect.
