Youth Work Apprenticeships

May 28, 2015

ARE you aged 16-25 and have a passion for working within communities? Do you have a good attitude and a willingness to learn? We have five youth work apprentice positions at various locations throughout North East Lincolnshire.

These are for a period of two years and, as part of the role the successful applicants will complete the Level 2 Diploma in Informal & Community Education through the YMCA George Williams College.

There will also be the opportunity to gain further qualifications related to youth work and also study for functional skills in literacy, numeracy and ICT if not gained already.

Apprentices will be hosted in the five venues below and will work together to identify the current activities available for young people within that area.

  • Centre 4 Nunsthorpe Grimsby
  • Oasis Academy Immingham
  • Grimsby Leisure Centre
  • Shalom Youth Centre Grimsby
  • YMCA Humber Grimsby

Having identified the gaps they will work alongside young people to enable them to apply for funding and support them to fulfil their needs within their community.

They will be working with young people and help to deliver sessions alongside  workers, learning the skills needed within centre based and street based sessions.
