Foyer Coach

Hours: 28 hours per week

Shift pattern:
Week 1 – Thur & Fri 12 noon – 10pm
Week 2 – Mon 8am-6pm, Thur 8pm-8am
Week 3 – Mon 8am – 6pm, Sat 10am – 8pm, Sun 8pm-8am
Week 4 – Mon, Tue, Wed – 10pm – 8am, Sat 10am – 8pm

Salary: £9.04 per hour

YMCA Humber is a youth charity that specialises in supported accommodation for over 100 young people in communities around North-East Lincolnshire. We also provide education and training, mental health support and youth activities to support young people across the Humber.

In 2001, YMCA Humber opened its Foyer, providing supported housing, based upon a self-contained model, for 26 young people.
Our Foyer Project offers supported accommodation for 16-24 year-olds who are actively involved in education, training or volunteering.
The building boasts of 26 self-contained studio flats with 24-hour support in a university halls style environment.

The Foyer seeks to help those young people who are serious about moving on in their education and making progressive steps towards their future plans.

In this varied role, you will work alongside residents offering support based on life-coaching and person-centred principles, using skills such as active listening and positive questioning whilst enabling residents to meet their aspirations such as being healthy, managing finances and preparing for living more independently.

A methodical, well organised and positive approach to work is essential.

A knowledge of the training, education and voluntary sector, social housing, the welfare benefits system and the ability to keep comprehensive records is essential.

Maintenance Operative

Hours: 20 hours per week (excluding breaks)

Flexibility of working hours required depending on the needs and activities.

Salary: £18,819 WTE (£9,410 pro rota for 0.5 WTE)

YMCA Humber is a youth charity that specialises in supported accommodation for over 100 young people in communities around North-East Lincolnshire. We also provide education and training, mental health support and youth activities to support young people across the Humber.

You will be responsible for creating welcoming spaces and maintaining high standards within our buildings. We believe that how we care for our buildings is integral to our clients’ well-being and experience of the accommodation and support we offer.

In addition to these practical skills you will need a positive attitude and good interpersonal skills as your role will involve interacting with the diverse range of young people we support, including some with complex emotional and behavioural needs.

Fundraising Coordinator

Hours: Up to 40 hours per week (excluding breaks)

This role could be considered on a 2x part time basis

Salary: £20,000 – £22,000 WTE depending on experience

A practical, versatile, hands on role to plan and deliver fundraising events, whilst ensuring these are promoted and communicated through multiple media channels. This role has specific accountability for achieving income targets through events, challenges and individual or group donations. This role involves managing and organising a portfolio of key events throughout the year.

Key areas of accountability will include events and challenges management, supporter development, communication and budget management.

Trusts and Grants Coordinator

Hours: 16 hours per week (excluding breaks)

This role could be considered on a freelance basis

Salary: Up to £24,000 WTE (£9,600 0.4 WTE)

The key purpose of this role is to increase funding income against set annual targets including income primarily from grants and trusts and corporate partnerships. This role, working alongside the Fundraising and Communications Manager, involves proactively seeking out funding opportunities, writing proposals, cultivation, stewardship and reporting.

Fundraising & Communications Manager

Hours:      40 hours per week (excluding breaks)

Primarily days with flexibility required

Contract: Permanent

Salary:     £30,000 – £33,500 depending on experience

YMCA Humber is a youth charity that specialises in supported accommodation for over 100 young people in communities around North-East Lincolnshire. We also provide education and training, mental health support and youth activities to support young people across the Humber.

This is a new role at the YMCA, created to take responsibility for achieving the annual income targets from areas such as fundraising, trusts, grants and legacy giving. This role has accountability for the development and delivery of the communications strategy to ensure it is aligned with organisational needs. This role requires creativity and commercial understanding to identify additional income streams for YMCA Humber.

In order to be successful in this exciting role you will have a proven track record in the planning, coordination and delivery of fundraising events that engage and inspire the local community. Experience in managing a busy communications department to include social media, website and press releases is essential.

The successful candidate will ideally be educated to degree level with a proven track record of delivering challenging budgets. They will have experience of managing a small, dynamic team, with the ability to multi-task and work to challenging timescales.

Relief Support Worker

Working hours: We have a variety of shifts available at both of our largest accommodation sites including days, evening and night shifts. We promote flexible working arrangements providing the requirements of the Association are being met. Please enquire for specific shift times.

We are looking for flexible individuals with good communication skills to join our list of relief support worker staff to work mornings, evenings and through the night. You will engage with our residents to provide informal support, offering practical advice on issues like health, personal leadership & employability. We are looking for candidates who can work flexibly, with a positive approach to work and the ability to motivate residents to make positive changes in their lives. – To be able where possible to deliver transferable skills as part of an activity session.
