Human Resource Manager

YMCA Humber is looking for an HR Manager

YMCA Humber is a youth charity that specialises in supported accommodation for over 100 young people in communities around North-East Lincolnshire.  We also provide education and training, mental health support and youth activities to support young people across the Humber.

This is a new role at the YMCA, created to take responsibility for the transactional aspects of HR and support the delivery of our new People Strategy.  Reporting to our Chief Executive you will, through the delivery of our People Strategy ensure the best people are retained, recruited and developed in line with our values and objectives.  With a new 3-year Strategic Plan to deliver across the Organisation, this role will be key to supporting our workforce at this exciting time of transformational change.

The successful candidate will be able to add value to the organisation quickly, supporting our staff with the internal processes to support our payroll function.  The HR Manager will assume responsibility for delivery of the new People Strategy, working with our Management Team to deliver a performance management and core competency framework, a bespoke organisational training and development plan.  The successful candidate will also work with the Management Team to deliver ongoing staff well-being initiatives.

Relief Support Worker

Working hours: We have a variety of shifts available at both of our largest accommodation sites including days, evening and night shifts. We promote flexible working arrangements providing the requirements of the Association are being met. Please enquire for specific shift times.

We are looking for flexible individuals with good communication skills to join our list of relief support worker staff to work mornings, evenings and through the night. You will engage with our residents to provide informal support, offering practical advice on issues like health, personal leadership & employability. We are looking for candidates who can work flexibly, with a positive approach to work and the ability to motivate residents to make positive changes in their lives. In return we provide a diverse work environment and opportunities to progress.

Volunteer Support Workers

Volunteer Responsibilities:
– Welcome and induct new residents.
– Organise and deliver activity and learning sessions.
– Deliver independent living sessions such as cooking, cleaning and hygiene. Record progress and outcomes.

Volunteer Youth Workers

Volunteer Responsibilities:
– To assist in the running of the youth programme which has up to 35 young people and 3 staff.
– To communicate with the youth co-ordinator and other volunteers about daily programme activities
– To supervise young people and ensure general health & safety and rules of conduct
– To build a rapport with young people and listen to their concerns
– To facilitate and participate in games, activities and discussions with young people
– To assist with necessary programme set-up and clean-up
– To undertake required record keeping procedures including reporting verbally to supervisor and completing any relevant programme forms

Volunteer Responsibilities:
– Work on their own or as part of a team maintaining 103 accommodation units in our Accommodation hostels.
– To be able where possible to deliver transferable skills as part of an activity session.
