YMCA Humber is a provider of support services in North East Lincolnshire and part of the wider YMCA movement which operates internationally in 119 countries to form the largest and oldest youth charity in the world.

YMCA Humber is a youth charity that specialises in supported accommodation for over 100 people in communities around North- East Lincolnshire. We also provide training and education, mental health support and youth activities.

Last year we provided over 39,400 safe nights of accommodation for vulnerable people and over 40 training opportunities for young people. Customer Service Administrator
31 hours per week including weekends & evenings
Salary – £9.77 from September 1st 2020
Key accountabilities of this role, which reports to the Corporate Administration Officer will include
– Being a first point of contact for all visitors, residents, and staff as they enter or call the
centre and providing a welcoming professional service.
– Taking cash payments through the EPOS system.
– Providing a professional administration service for the Association.
– Room bookings – ensuring meeting rooms are equipped in accordance with the booking
requirements.
– Managing accommodation related reports and processes on databases
In order to be successful in this demanding role you will have
– Excellent customer service and communication skills
– The ability to defuse potentially difficult situations
– Excellent IT skills
– Ability to create a safe and welcoming environment for our residents and staff
– Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills

Night Shift Concierge
37 hours per week including weekends & evenings
Salary – £9.77 from September 1st 2020
Rota – 4 days on, 4 days off Monday – Friday 10pm – 8am Saturday & Sunday 8pm to 8am

Key accountabilities of this role, which reports to the Property Service Lead will include
• Ensuring the welfare, safety and security of our residents and buildings overnight.
• Making regular security checks ensuring building are secure, noise and disruption are kept to a minimum
• Manage safe evacuation of the site in case of a fire alarm where necessary.
• Administer basic first aid if required.
• Monitoring CCTV of various sites and take appropriate action, as necessary.
• Control ‘out of hours’ access to buildings by residents.
• Ensuring that designated areas are clean, secure, and safe.
• Carry out preparation for following days breakfasts, activities, setting up rooms for meetings/events etc., within the designated hostel.
In order to be successful in this demanding role you will have
• A good level of education.
• Experience of building management, Health and safety or maintenance.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team.
• Be able to work unsociable hours, including some public holidays / weekends on a rota basis.

Foyer Coach
40 hours per week including weekends & evenings
Salary – £10.45 from September 1st 2020
Rota – will include weekends & evenings

In 2001, YMCA Humber opened The Foyer, providing supported housing, based upon a self-contained model, for 26 young people. Our Foyer Project offers supported accommodation for 16-24 year-olds who are actively involved in education, training or volunteering.

Key accountabilities of this role, which reports to the Accommodation Lead will include

  • Actively engage residents to develop and implement a positive support plan
  • Practical living skills, including shopping, cooking, cleaning, laundry etc.
  • Budgeting and money management.
  • Maintaining healthy relationships.
  • Improving health and wellbeing, including mental health.
  • Maintaining good personal hygiene and cleanliness of accommodation.
  • Accessing and engaging with external agencies and services.
  • Accessing education, training, and employment opportunities.
  • Preparing for a successful move on and living independently.

In order to be successful in this demanding role you will have:
• A good level of education.
• A methodical, well organised and positive approach to work
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team.
• Be able to work unsociable hours, including some public holidays / weekends on a rota basis.

A knowledge of the training, education and voluntary sector, social housing, the welfare benefits system and the ability to keep comprehensive records is essential.
