Clerk to the Board of Trustees

To provide advice to the board and its individual members on governance, constitutional and procedural matters, ensuring the board meets its statutory requirements.

Hours -

This role is likely to be an average of at least 16 hours per month but will vary depending on the governance cycle.

Rates of pay –

£11.95 per hour

Location –

21 Freeman Street, Grimsby, DN32 with some remote working available.

The key purpose of this role will be –

- To provide advice to the board and its individual members on governance, constitutional and procedural matters, ensuring the board meets its statutory requirements.

- To provide administrative support to the board, its committees, and individual Trustees to facilitate effective and efficient meetings and governance.

- To make a key contribution to ensuring a strong evidence base is provided through an accurate record of board challenge, actions, and decisions.

- To manage information effectively and in accordance with legal requirements, observing confidentiality where necessary.

- To facilitate and co-ordinate the induction process for new Trustees and promote Trustee training, succession planning and recruitment.

- Ensure DBS, Companies House, Charity Commission documentation is submitted and kept up-to-date.

 

Qualification / Experience required

- Excellent IT skills

- Exceptional administration skills including accurate minute taking

- Understanding of confidentiality and boundaries

- An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this role (paid for by YMCA Humber).
