Shifts –

Day shift and weekend availability. 

Job type - 

Part-time - 20 hours per week.
Salary - £11,544 per year.

Location –

21 Freeman Street, Grimsby, DN32 7AB – you may be required to work at a different location as required.

 

The YMCA Humber are looking for a Community Outreach Worker to join our exciting project the ‘Grimsby Dads Collective’.

Working alongside our Grimsby Dad's Project Coordinator you will plan, communicate and deliver a range of outreach activities with the purpose of engaging dads in activities to support the Grimsby Dads Collective (GDC), and contributing to its longer-term development. Key accountabilities will include:

  • Contribute to the development of new ideas that will help engage dads in the community.
  • Run regular workshops, groups, and activities to support and engage with dads.
  • Be pro-active in sourcing opportunities to promote the GDC and engage with dads in the area.
  • Attend and help organise promotional activities and events to identify and engage with dads in and around the area.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness and outcomes of outreach activities.
  • Work with other members of the Grimsby Dads Collective to co-deliver the ‘Ask a Dad’ workshops, specifically focussing on young dads exerience of parenthood .
  • Represent the Grimsby Dads Collective as required with external partners and community organisations.
  • Engage with organisations to promote the GDC and identify young dads.

 

Experience required

  • Proven experience of parenthood.
  • Evidence of previous outreach work/voluntary or life experiences that will provide valuable in the local environment.
  • Understanding of the issues and barriers facing dads in their parenting journey.
  • Knowledge of the local area and community groups.
  • An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this role (paid for by YMCA Humber).
