Ryan Jewitt joins YMCA Humber

Ryan is 44 years old and a father of 3, he moved back to Grimsby from Durham two years ago to be with his partner, they recently had a little baby girl so she occupies a lot of his spare time. Ryan also travels to see his son every two weeks who lives in the northeast. He enjoys going for walks and spending time with his family and their dog.

We asked Ryan what drew him to this role, he said, “in terms of the role I applied for I feel my own life experience has helped me understand children in a different way and to not judge. I have children of my own and I realise that the expectations of dads of all ages to speak out is a tough one. Long term in this role I would love to be able to make a difference to someone’s life, and to give them the confidence or try to help them to achieve a better life for themselves and their families.”
