Do I have to be a YMCA resident?

Yes, you do need to be a resident or ex-resident of the Foyer, Peaks Lane or Community House.

Do I have to pay for the training and engagement activities?

There is no cost for training and engagement activities provided you meet attendance expectations.

Do I have to attend every session?

Yes, you must attend every session.  There is an expectation of 95% attendance.

Are there any minimum entry requirements?

No, there are no minimum entry requirements.

How long is the course?

The courses vary in length between 12-14 weeks.  The course is delivered over 4 days weekly, 5 and a half hours a day.

Do I get holidays?

Yes, the courses operate to the normal college year.

Where do I go once I complete a programme?

You can either continue to the next programme if suitable or progress to further higher qualifications.

Is there a set date for entry each year?

Programmes start throughout the year.

Which location will the course be delivered at?

Most sessions are delivered from the Foyer although there may be trips out or delivery at alternative locations on occasions.

Are the courses accredited?

Yes, functional skills and employability qualifications are accredited by City and Guilds.  You may receive AQA Unit Award Scheme certificates for some engagement activities (these are recognition of your achievements).
