YMCA Humber Launches New Autumn Community Activities Across Grimsby

YMCA Humber is rolling out a series of new activities this autumn, designed to bring people together, boost wellbeing, and strengthen community connections.

Community Craft Group – Clee Fields Café

Launching on Wednesday 3rd September 2025, a craft group will run every Wednesday from 1pm to 3pm at Clee Fields Café, Ladysmith Road, Grimsby. Sessions cost just £2.50 and are open to all over 18. The group offers the chance to try new crafts, meet new people, and boost confidence.

Walking Netball – Kent Street

From Thursday 4th September 2025, YMCA Humber will also introduce Walking Netball at Kent Street, Grimsby (DN32 7DH). The sessions will take place every Thursday from 1pm to 2.30pm, with sessions in September free to attend whilst the session is established. Following this, it will be £2.50 per session including a coffee. Walking Netball is a slower-paced version of the game, making it fun and accessible for all abilities.

Kerry Davis, Wellbeing Manager at YMCA Humber, said: “These new groups are about so much more than the activities themselves; they’re about building connections, improving wellbeing, and giving people a safe, welcoming space to try something new. Whether it’s through crafts, conversation, or sport, everyone is welcome.”

YMCA Humber has been serving the communities of North East Lincolnshire for more than 140 years, with a mission to support young people, strengthen communities, and create opportunities for all. These new sessions are the latest step in its commitment to tackling isolation, improving health, and fostering a sense of belonging.
