Counselling for our residents

Counselling is a talking therapy that involves working with a therapist to reflect and process personal difficulties that are having a negative impact on a person’s general wellbeing and day to day life.

We know that it takes a lot of courage for an individual to ask for mental health support. That’s why we ensure individuals are offered an appointment within 7 days of referral. Once referred, individuals can access hour long weekly sessions for as long as required in a safe, confidential, non-judgemental, and welcoming environment.

Therapists at YMCA Humber work with individuals to find a style that best suits their needs for more effective and efficient outcomes. Counselling can provide individuals with the tools to better manage their mental health and any future difficulties they may face.
