Wraparound Family Day
YMCA Humber to Host Free Wraparound Family Day on Freeman Street
YMCA Humber is collaborating with local agencies to deliver a free Wraparound Family Day for the community.
On Wednesday 18 February, from 10am to 12pm, YMCA Humber at 21 Freeman Street will host a free community event designed to help families learn more about the Wraparound Care project at YMCA Humber. The service provides families with stability and security, offering a family-focused approach to child development through its after-school programme and holiday club.
Millie Wood, Out of School Club Manager at YMCA Humber, said, “The aim of this event is to build the reputation of the Wraparound project here at YMCA by providing free and engaging services that all families can access. By doing this, we are giving families and young people the opportunity to receive free clothing and school uniform, as well as external advice from the following agencies: Susie’s Clothing Bank, Oasis Community Hub, Project Re-Loved, North East Lincolnshire Parent Carer Forum, and NELC Children’s Services.”
Kelly Fletcher, from Susie’s Clothing Bank, said, “We support families across North East Lincolnshire with donated and recycled school uniform items for their children. We support families for many different reasons, and we also support schools, charities, and other partner agencies working with families.”
Amanda Fields, from Oasis Community Hub, added, “Our aim is for pre-loved school uniform to be made available to everyone via schools and community spaces. We encourage families to pass it on, reuse it, swap it, and mend it.”
The Wraparound Family Day is open for anyone to drop in, whether they are seeking advice from one of the partner agencies, collecting free school uniform, or finding out more about the Wraparound Care service at YMCA Humber.
