YMCA Humber is delighted to announce it has appointed Kate Conway as its new Chief Executive Officer. Kate has been part of the YMCA Humber team for three years, joining in 2019 as Head of People and Policy, and since July 2021 has carried out the role of Interim CEO.

In the last three years, Kate has been instrumental in the development of YMCA Humber’s services and the move to Freeman Street in September 2021.

Prior to joining YMCA Humber, Kate held the position of Income Generation Director within a local charity. Leading up to this role, Kate held senior HR and continuous improvement positions within United Biscuits and Kimberly Clark, bringing with her to YMCA Humber over 30 years’ experience in both the public, private and charity sector.

Kate has the experience, capability and drive required for a CEO, and the team at YMCA Humber is looking forward to working with a leader who has the passion, skills, and love for her work.

YMCA Humber is keen to continue expanding its excellent service, improve the quality of its current work and be a key partner in seeking to revitalise the East Marsh area, focusing on wellbeing, sport, and the community. The board of trustees have appointed an outstanding and grounded candidate who has a clear vision, and the ideas and strategic approach to deliver these ambitions.

Stephen Gallaher, Chair of Trustees at YMCA Humber, said “I am delighted that as a board we have appointed Kate Conway as the new CEO of YMCA Humber. Kate has exceptional skills and experience and is the right person to take us to the next level as an organisation.”
