YMCA Humber complete the Yorkshire 3 Peaks
YMCA Humber complete the Yorkshire 3 Peaks to raise funds for their youth and family provision.
On Saturday 20th May, 12 members of staff from YMCA Humber and their family and friends tackled the Yorkshire 3 Peaks. The 25-mile challenge took them over Pen-y-ghent (694m high), to Whrenside (736m high), and finally Ingleborough (723m high).
In 2022, YMCA Humber launched their free toddler groups, mental health and wellbeing sessions, and a youth club for 7-16-year-olds three evenings a week. Since launching they had 264 attendances at their wellbeing drop-ins, 723 attendances at their parent and toddler group, and 220 children sign up to their youth club.
The team took on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks to raise funds for their youth and family provision. In total they raised £3,342.31 (including gift aid), smashing their target of £2,000. They were supported by many kind individuals, as well as local organisations such as Dataplan Payroll, Hodson Architects, Hayden Lets LTD, Nolan Interiors, KIS Property Ltd, Docks Beers, Tesco Community Champions, and Orchard School.
Liv Rack from YMCA Humber said, “this was the hardest challenge I have done both mentally and physically, but I am so proud to say I have completed this and raised money for our youth and family provision, enabling us to continue our free services.
We want to thank everyone who sponsored us, we really appreciate your support.”
All money raised will enable YMCA to continue running their free youth club on a Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. If you would like more information, please head to Free Youth Club (ymca-humber.com)
