Immingham Youth Group looking forward to a ‘Bubbly’ good time

May 20, 2016

YOUNG people from our youth group in Immingham will be raising funds for Grimsby’s St. Andrew’s Children’s Hospice at their Bubble Rush fundraiser, this Sunday in Hull.

A team of five adults and eleven of the young people who attend the project will be taking part in the brand new fundraiser, as a way to show support for one of the region’s other charities.

Jocelyn Dennis, 28, is YMCA Humber’s Community Youth Worker and she will be leading the team at the Bubble Rush.

“The idea came from one of our volunteers, who was looking for activities we could all do as a group,” she said.

“The Bubble Rush is a different sort of fundraising event and we are looking forward to taking part.

“The young people are also looking forward to helping another charity with some fundraising, St. Andrew’s provides vital care for so many people and we know that any funds we raise will be going to an extremely good cause.”

Dennon, 10, from Immingham, is one of the young people taking part and she is looking forward to getting stuck into the foam and bubbles.

She added: “I am really excited about taking part in the Bubble Rush, it will be so much fun to be with all my friends from the youth group.

“It will be nice to help St. Andrew’s Hospice because they provide so much good support for children.

“I would also like to say thanks to YMCA for giving us the opportunity to take part – that is what our youth club is all about, having opportunities to take part in things that we might not normally get involved with.”

The Bubble Rush is a massively fun event that anyone can take part in.

At the start of the run, participants will receive a white t-shirt to make sure that they are a blank canvas, and they will finish in an array of bubbly colour.

As ‘Bubblers’ approach each of the bubble stations, they will prepare to be ‘bubbled’!  On each station there will be a high-powered foam cannon, blowing out 30 cubic metres a minute of frothy, milkshake bubbles.
