YOUNG people at our Foyer project recently took part in a First Aid training course designed and delivered by Linda Clark, our Youth and Community Services Manager. The training was delivered over one day and covered substance misuse and gun and knife crime injuries.
The training involved the use of PowerPoint presentations, demonstrations, a Q&A session and group discussions. In total, eight of our Foyer residents took part in the training.
Speaking of the sessions Linda said: “All participants thoroughly enjoyed the session, engaging in the group discussion and activities.
“I designed a bespoke first aid package around substance misuse in particular New Psychoactive Substances substances and the health effects of taking such drugs. It has been identified that we will not stop people taking drugs therefore designing the first aid package helps young people identify effects quicker and help those who are suffering possibly saving their life”.
