YMCA Humber’s 2019 Sleep Easy event has smashed its target amount of £25,000 and has raised an astonishing £31,745, with more funds expected to come in.
The charity held a small celebration event today, inviting partners to demonstrate where the money raised is being spent.
Among those who attended were staff from Harbour Place, Ultimate Packaging Ltd, Job Centre Plus, Henderson Insurance Broking Group, Humber Resource Training and Freshney Place Shopping Centre.
Debbie Cook, YMCA Humber’s Chief Executive Officer, delivered a presentation and was excited to say that much of the funds would go towards upgrading the charity’s housing projects in Grimsby. The upgrades include a renovation of the lounge at the Peaks Lane Accommodation and renovation of the bedrooms at the YMCA Foyer.
Sleep Easy is a national fundraising event run by local YMCA’s to raise much needed funds for their own projects. All monies raised through Sleep Easy stays local to each YMCA. For more information or to show interest in next years event, click here.
