Aiming for a Hole in One

September 5, 2014

YMCA AND Get Hooked on Positive Activities (GHoPA) are looking for a hole in one as their charity golf day returns to Grimsby Golf Club on Friday 12th September.

The two charities are hosting the day for the second year running, after a successful first event in 2013.

Last year’s winners Warnerland are set to defend their crown but they will face some stiff competition from new teams for this year’s event, which include Lincolnshire YMCA, Turning Point and ProVision.

There are now just limited spaces left of teams to join in the event. All funds raised will help the two charities to continue their work with disadvantaged young people in the region.

Mark Fenty, Managing Director of GHoPA spoke of his hope for the event.

He said: “We had a successful event last year and we are hoping that it is bigger and better this time around.

“We’re pleased with the teams that have signed up so far but we also have spaces still available.

“So if there are any local businesses or budding golfers out there who would like to take part, we would urge them to get in touch.”

The entry price is £120 for a team of four and that includes the round of golf, breakfast bun on arrival and fish and chips after your round.

There will also be a raffle on the day with some fantastic prizes on offer.

If there are any companies who don’t wish to play golf but would still like to be involved, there are sponsorship opportunities available on the day, which include:

  • Sponsor a Tee – £35
  • Sponsor a Green – £35
  • Clubhouse Signs – £50
  • Vehicle outside Clubhouse – £35

Organisers are also looking for the donation of prizes for the raffle and companies will get a mention on the evening, as well as links through social media and YMCA Humber’s website.
