THERE was an early Christmas surprise for young people at our Peaks Lane Housing Project in Grimsby thanks to a generous donation from Ramsden International.
Several parcels of packaged foods arrived at the project last week thanks to Kerry Hughes and Ben Watson from the internationally acclaimed food retailer and exporter.
YMCA Humber’s Mark Brewer (Community Support Coordinator) and Jim Hudson (Peaks Lane Project Manager) were on hand to collect the donation.
The latter spoke of his delight at Ramsden’s generosity.
He said: “It was a wonderful and large donation of various packaged foods.
“The goods were all high quality and we will use them as client gifts and prizes for activities.
“There are specialist teas, preserves and nibbles and much, much more.
“In fact there is enough to share between our three housing projects in Grimsby and we are delighted that Ramsden’s have thought of YMCA and our young people at Christmas time.”
Kerry added: “We felt that YMCA was a worthy charity to donate some food too because they can do a lot with the packages for their young people at Christmas.”
