February 13, 2020

Ray Oxby has recently joined the Board at YMCA Humber as a new Trustee

Ray Oxby brings more than just extensive public sector experience, energy and enthusiasm as a new Trustee onto the Board of YMCA Humber.

He has had 36 years’ service in Local Government as an Officer, latterly as a Strategic Director, followed by 7 years as a Councillor and Leader, which enabled him to forge close and productive links with partners across the voluntary, community and business sectors locally, as well as on the National stage involving Ministers and senior Civil Servants.

Ray is passionate about young people having the chances to be supported and enabled to prosper, thrive and fulfil their full potential, whatever their background.

Ray mentioned, “I am delighted to join the Grimsby based YMCA at a time of amazing opportunity. With a new and visionary Chief Executive, Debbie Cook at the helm and an inspirational Chair and Trustees delivering exciting and wide ranging initiatives to grow the housing and life support offer to our young people, in strong partnership with the Council and other strategic commissioners, the future has never been brighter for our clients”.

He believes that YMCA Humber has a momentous opportunity with the impending Freeman Street move, to influence, add value and provide opportunity for the young people in North East Lincolnshire and the Humber region.
