About The Role
The Café Assistant will support the smooth running of food and beverage services within Bradbury Café and Clee Fields Sports Facility. The successful candidate will assist with preparing and serving food and drinks, maintaining cleanliness standards, handling customer enquiries, and ensuring visitors receive a welcoming and professional experience.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks, snacks, and light meals.
- Deliver excellent customer service at all times.
- Operate tills and handle cash/card transactions accurately.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the café and service areas.
- Support hospitality requirements during events, sports activities, and community functions.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Promote a positive and welcoming environment for all visitors
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic, and customer-focused individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, while maintaining a professional and positive attitude in a busy environment.
Applicants should demonstrate strong customer service skills, flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and event-based shifts, and an understanding of basic food hygiene and cleanliness standards. Previous experience within a café, catering, hospitality, leisure, or customer service environment would be advantageous, along with experience handling cash or operating tills.
A Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 and Allergens Training would also be beneficial, although training will be provided for the successful candidate.

Working Pattern:
- Sessional hours align to temporary employment undertaken for a fixed period. Hours are assigned during busy seasons or specific projects, where employees are hired to meet short-term operational needs or increased demand.
Hourly Rate :
- £13.45 per hour (plus rolled up leave allowance 12.07%)
