1 Orwell Street was officially opened by the Mayor
1 Orwell Street was officially opened by the Mayor of the Borough of North East Lincolnshire on Monday 25th July. To celebrate the opening, we were joined by our board of trustees, the contractors involved in the renovation, members of the council, organisations who work closely with the YMCA, and the first group of residents who have moved into 1 Orwell Street.
Stephen Gallaher, Chair of Trustees opened the celebration with a speech on the history of 1 Orwell Street, and the impact and opportunities these changes will make to new residents. This was followed by the Mayor of the Borough of North East Lincolnshire cutting the ribbon, a tour of the new accommodation, and a buffet at 21 Freeman Street.
We are thrilled with the response we received from everyone who was shown around, and we would like to thank those who joined us in celebrating the official opening, and we cannot wait for the rooms to be filled with residents ready for the next step in their journey.
