On Friday 14th August, YMCA Humber hosted a free community fun day at the Multi-Use-Games-Area on Kent Street to end ‘YMCA Humber Awareness Week’.

The community fun day was a great success, bringing together local residents of all ages for an enjoyable day filled with fun, laughter and community spirit.

The event consisted of music and live entertainment from East Marsh United Peace Choir and our very own youth club! We also had a variety of free games and activities for everyone to get involved in, for example PL kicks attended with their giant inflatable darts board. We also had a Coconut Shy, Hook-A-Duck, face painters, a tombola and a station for arts and crafts.

Sarah Howden, Wellbeing Officer at YMCA Humber said, “the community day was a fun filled day enjoyed by many of our community members. It showed what the YMCA is about perfectly. Our youth members who took part in our talent show did amazing and it was great to see everyone coming together and having so much fun.”

Andy Mundell, Head of Service at YMCA Humber added, “as a new member of the YMCA Humber team, this was my first experience of our community (family) fun days. It was great to see a variety of activities, expertly staffed by our professional youth team and partners.  The sun was shining, and it was great to see so many young people and their families enjoy a positive fun-filled afternoon.”

We want to thank everyone for joining us to celebrate YMCA Humber Awareness Week, we really appreciate your support.
